Superconducting qubit

The chip is cold, and the early gates still have a phase to use. A long enough row runs past the coherence time of that device, and the last mark is drawn dim.

A superconducting qubit is a small electrical circuit, cooled close to absolute zero, and used as one physical qubit. Its coherence time is measured on that chip. Short circuits finish well inside it, and long ones run past it and lose their phase.

The device papers live on the courses next door. This shelf keeps the phase those papers are trying to hold, which is the sign a bedroom diagram can still square by hand.
